Greetings,
There are several issues that the editors would like to bring to the
attention of WG3 for discussion in Seoul. This is the first of those
issues.
1. Should the TMDM Mapping (Annex B of the current CD draft) be moved to
a balloted TR or some other commitee approved document?
This mapping was prepared at the request of the committee. While the
editors agree that it is a useful exercise, they have come to question
its inclusion in the TMRM proper.
While the TMDM is the only extant data model in ISO 13250 at present, it
is conceded even within the text of the TMDM that other models for
merging, properties, etc. are possible and even expected. When such
other data models appear, it would be good to have a precedent for
recording committee approved mappings of those data models, if the
committee has such an interest.
Further, the mapping does not add anything to the exposition of the TMRM.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Patrick
